All of our Pygora fiber is skirted (hand-picked) to remove as much vegetative matter as possible from the fleece before it is shipped to the processing mill where it is commercially washed, dehaired, carded and finished into clouds or yarn.  Being a fine fiber, Pygora lacks memory.  Therefore, some of our fiber has been blended with 10% fine merino wool for your convenience.  Pygora can be blended with many other fibers, each blend creating a unique and beautiful product.  Have fun & experiment!  Pygora adds beautiful sheen to your yarn and with use, develops a wonderful soft halo.  Pygora also dyes beautifully to a rainbow of colours.  Pygora fiber is very warm.  It also goes a long way. The amount produced when spun will vary, depending upon the blend as well as how you spin it (sportweight through to laceweight).  Pygora fleece contains guard hairs and the dehairing process attempts to remove as many guard hairs as possible.  You may find however a few guard hairs remaining in the processed products.  These can be separated out while spinning if so desired.
